Maybe you prefer scoundrels? This southerner said almost nothing at the Constitutional Convention and signed the Constitution only reluctantly.  He was the only delegate known to have broken the Convention's secrecy pledge. After the Convention he will try to start a war to increase western land values and become the first man ever to be expelled from the U. S. Senate.  He will flee Washington before his trial, prompting Abagail Adams to Remark, "It's too bad that the Capitol keeps no gallows."

I've always liked scofflaws.

You've got to be kidding!
