Well then, how about this one: A conservative, states' rights lawyer called "The Penman of the Revolution" (He headed the committee that drafted the Articles of Confederation).  Maybe he's no great orator (one of the other delegates said of him: "With an affected air of wisdom he labors to produce a trifle"), and he's prone to illness, but you may like him.
