Maybe you prefer more classical types. How about a Founding Father who's a student of the classics and speaks Latin and Greek? He's a law professor (his students included John Marshall, James Monroe, and Henry Clay) and friend of Thomas Jefferson. And he accomplished all this after being orphaned at an early age.
